About Me

Hello!!

A silhouette of four pagans against the backdrop of the moon. About me Page

A quick about me. I’m Kevin (aka Pickle or The Scouse Druid), a Brythonic pagan, Awenydd, and lover of stories, plants, and places. I follow a Brythonic pagan path, draw inspiration from Celtic lore, and walk the way of the Awenydd. I am affiliated with the British Druid Order and the Anglesey Druid Order, and through my writings, talks, and workshops, I aim to share what I discover on my journey. I began my journey over 20 years ago as a Alexandrian Kemetic witch, before joining the House of Netjer as an ordained priest. While I deeply enjoyed this part of my path, I always felt a disconnect worshiping the gods of a land so far away. This led me to discovering Druidry and Brythonic paganism. I felt it was deeply important to reduce the range of my practice to my local area, utilising local spirits and resources.

Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in:

  • Poetry, mythic storytelling and reflections on nature
  • Ritual magic, ranging from hermetic to grimoire magic
  • Experimenting with chaos magic
  • Egyptian magic and mythology
  • Celtic mythology and mythic archaeology
  • Folk magic, herbalism, and plant lore
  • Incense making
  • Protection, defensive and offensive magic
  • Sacred landscapes, local magic, and local spirit places
  • Running public and private rituals

Here, I share my wanderings, speculations, and experiments — a mix of roots and wings, grounded and reaching.

Who I Am & What I Do

  • Spiritual identity: I follow a path rooted in Brythonic and Welsh paganism. I hold membership in the British Druid Order, and also serve as an Awenydd with the Anglesey Druid Order.
  • Voice of the blog: The Scouse Druid is my space to think aloud, about books, herbs, sacred places, myth, ritual, and how the old and the new overlap.
  • Offerings I share:
      • Book reviews & reflections (especially on Celtic myth, paganism, spirituality)
      • Herb lore, plant magic, and natural correspondences
      • Explorations of local magic (magia loci) – connecting to and working with the spirit of place
      • Mythic and historical site studies – journeys between worlds
      • Poetry, musings, and the occasional rant
  • Workshops & Talks: I’m available for talks, workshops, and guided explorations on topics across Druidry, myth, nature connection, and spiritual practice.
  • Book reviews & ARCs: If you have a manuscript, advance copy, or spiritual text you’d like me to explore, feel free to reach out.

If you would like to book me for a talk, workshop or book review, please do feel free to contact me.

Why “Scouse” + “Druid”?

“Scouse” is more than an accent or a local tag, it roots me to a land, a culture, a place that has its own spirit. Being a Druid doesn’t mean living in isolated hills, it means being in relationship, in place, with history, nature, and community.

This blog is where I bring Celtic myth, Druidry, and my “magical square mile” into conversation. Where lore meets the streets, where oak groves whisper behind terraced houses, and where a walk by a river can be magical.

A Few (Possibly Interesting) Things About Me

  • My favourite tree? It changes with season and mood, but i tend to favour an Oak or Blackthorn.
  • I tend to spot herbs, mosses, and stone shapes resulting in me stopping to take pictures.
  • I believe folklore and myth is alive, not just in old books, but in the edges of our cities, in ruins, in wild corners.
  • I love a good debate: which version of a legend is “more true”? Which plant has a hidden power?
  • I’m always learning, from place, from people and most importantly, from mistakes.
